About Copenhagen
Copenhagen Cycle Chic, my favourite CPH-related blog
Going out
Dyrehaven, my favourite bar, and local to me in Vesterbro
Ruby’s, one of the best cocktail bars around, in any country
Maven, the restaurant with the best room in CPH, in a converted church and with a great outdoor area in the summer
Granola, the (sometimes too) popular place to go for brunch
But if you can’t get in to Granola, then Cafe Laundromat is a more than worthy substitute
The Nørrebro Bryghus is a microbrewery that always has brilliant beers on
Pate Pate, a great bar and restaurant only occasionally marred by the swanky clientele
And next door to Pate Pate is Mother, a lively pizza spot in the Meat Packing District
Shopping & Sights
My favourite CPH sight so far, the Rundetaarn – cheap and with a great view
Much more than just a beer here, so get familiar with its history at Visit Carlsberg
Sound Station, Copenhagen’s best music shop
Fil De Fer, beautiful French antiques and lovely staff, in the heart of CPH
And more French and assorted antiques and vintage at Beau Marche
Rundt om Vin, the best wine shop in Copenhagen, in Hellerup and run by the lovely Malene
Juul’s Wine & Spirits, for all those hard-to-find mixers
Designer Zoo, a collection of independent designers who make up a great shop
Hay, a modern Danish designer with a beautiful shop in the centre
AC Perch’s, old world tea shop, with relaxing tea salon upstairs
Info
Stop number 1 – hire a bike. I’ve used Baisikeli a lot, but there are lots more around
AOK, the self-proclaimed insider’s guide to Copenhagen
The Copenhagen Post, Denmark’s only English language newspaper
IA Sprog, my Danish language school, which I highly recommend
Days away
Helenekilde Badehotel, a stunning night away on the north coast of Copenhagen’s island, Sjælland.
